A Studio Maternity Session with Family Close to My Heart

There are some sessions that feel extra special, and this one truly touched me. Growing up, my cousin and I never lived close. Life had us in different places, and our paths didn’t cross often. But now, we’re only twenty minutes apart—and for the first time, I had the joy of meeting his beautiful wife and their two darling girls, ages four and two

There are some sessions that feel extra special, and this one truly touched me. Growing up, my cousin and I never lived close. Life had us in different places, and our paths didn’t cross often. But now, we’re only twenty minutes apart—and for the first time, I had the joy of meeting his beautiful wife and their two darling girls, ages four and two.

Portrait of a family of four dressed in denim and white.

Not only was it wonderful finally getting to know them, but I had the absolute honor of photographing such a meaningful milestone in their lives: the anticipation of welcoming a new baby into their family.

In the studio, the energy was soft and joyful. Their little girls filled the space with giggles and curiosity, while Mom glowed in her elegant, neutral-toned gown—radiant and graceful. Dad’s quiet admiration was written all over his face, and the way he looked at her during our time together made capturing their love so natural.

Maternity portrait of a couple, with the man seated lower than the woman, his hand on her belly as he gazes up at her lovingly.

One of my favorite moments from the session was the intimate portraits of just the two of them—Mom resting her hands gently over her baby bump while Dad sat close, his hand lovingly placed on hers. There was such tenderness in the way they connected, as if the rest of the world melted away and all that mattered was this season of waiting and excitement.

Portrait of a couple wearing white shirts and denim pants, with the man embracing the pregnant woman from behind.

The girls, of course, brought their own sparkle to the portraits—playful hugs, spontaneous snuggles, and those authentic little bursts of laughter that only young children can bring. Their love for their soon-to-arrive sibling was already so apparent.

Portrait of a pregnant woman holding a young girl, while another young girl stands kissing her mother's belly.

For me, this session wasn’t just about photographs. It was about connection—bridging the distance of years apart and finally being able to step into this chapter of my cousin’s life. To celebrate his growing family and to preserve these fleeting, beautiful moments for them was such a gift.

I left the studio that day with a full heart, grateful for family, for the closeness that time and distance can’t diminish, and for the privilege of turning their love into timeless keepsakes.

Sweet Newborn Portraits in My Highlands Ranch Studio | A Growing Family

One of my favorite parts of being a newborn photographer is welcoming families into my Highlands Ranch home studio and getting to witness all the unique dynamics that unfold when a new baby arrives. This recent session was such a joy—a young family with their brand-new baby girl and her 13-month-old big sister, who stole the show in the most delightful way.

Portrait of a smiling blond haired blue eyed one year old girl wearing a white dress with blue flowers

A Studio Filled with Giggles (and Hugs!)

When the family arrived, I was immediately greeted by their older daughter, who at just 13 months, was already full of personality. She wasn’t particularly interested in her brand-new baby sister—but she was very interested in me and in exploring every corner of the studio. Between running around, playing with props, and offering me hug after hug, she kept us all laughing throughout the session.

And that’s what I love about studio newborn photography—it’s not just about perfectly posed portraits (though we captured plenty of those, too). It’s about letting children be themselves, celebrating their personalities, and capturing authentic family moments in the process.

Portrait of a one year old girl with a big smile and scrunched nose as her dad holds her hands from behind and she stares at the camera.

Timeless Newborn Portraits

While big sister explored, Mom and Dad took turns with their sweet newborn. We created soft, natural portraits that highlighted her tiny details—curled fingers, peaceful expressions, and the way she melted so easily into her parents’ arms. The studio light wrapped her in a gentle glow, making each image feel timeless and serene.

We also captured family portraits—images that bring together the love, energy, and connection that make this season so special. Even though big sister wasn’t too interested in holding her baby sister just yet, her playful spirit added so much joy to the story of this session. Years from now, these portraits will be a reminder not only of their newborn’s earliest days, but also of the spirited little girl who had just become a big sister.

Why Choose a Studio Newborn Session?

My Highlands Ranch studio is designed to be a cozy, welcoming space for families. Parents can relax while I gently guide the session, and little ones have room to move around and explore without pressure. The controlled light and curated environment ensure that your portraits are both beautiful and timeless, no matter what the weather outside may be.

Portrait of a newborn, with eyes wide open, held close in her fathers arms as he comforts her.

Celebrate Your Growing Family

Welcoming a newborn is always a whirlwind—especially with toddlers in the mix! But that’s exactly why newborn portraits are so meaningful. They freeze this fleeting moment in time, preserving not just how your baby looks, but also the energy and personality of your family as it grows and changes.

Portrait of a one year old girl standing with her father seated behind her in a white floor with soft window light behind them.

If you’re expecting or have recently welcomed a new baby, I’d love to invite you into my studio for a newborn portrait session in Highlands Ranch, CO. Together, we’ll create heirloom portraits that tell the story of your family—exactly as you are, right now.

Family Portraits at Daniel’s Park | Highlands Ranch, CO Sunset Session

Daniel’s Park is such a beautiful place for sunset family portraits near Highlands Ranch—grassy hills, wide open skies, and those breathtaking views of the Front Range. We scheduled the session for golden hour, and the light did not disappoint.

Some moments feel like the closing of one chapter and the opening of another, and this family portrait session at Daniel’s Park was exactly that kind of bittersweet beauty.

Mom and Dad arrived with their two sons—a family that has spent years building memories together in Colorado. The oldest is already off at college, navigating the next steps of life, and the younger is just about to begin his own college adventure. It’s a time of change, pride, and deep love… and the perfect moment to capture their bond before the next big chapter begins.

A Perfect Evening at Daniel’s Park

Daniel’s Park is such a beautiful place for sunset family portraits near Highlands Ranch—grassy hills, wide open skies, and those breathtaking views of the Front Range. We scheduled the session for golden hour, and the light did not disappoint. As the sun dipped lower, it bathed the landscape in a warm, honeyed glow, wrapping the family in light that seemed to echo the love they share.

Portrait of a man embracing a woman, both facing the camera, with mountains and a glowing sun in the background.

More Than Just Photographs

For Mom and Dad, this session was more than just updated family photos—it was a chance to pause, breathe in this moment, and hold onto it before both boys head out into the world.

We talked about how quickly the years have passed. Sometimes in the midst of the chaos of raising kids, we don’t realize how fast time is flying by. That’s why it’s so important to document these transitions. These portraits are a reminder that while life changes, the love at the center of it all stays strong.

Divinely Inspired | A Portrait Session with a Transformational Healer at Chatfield Reservoir

Divinely Inspired | A Portrait Session with a Transformational Healer at Chatfield Reservoir

Some portrait sessions are more than beautiful images—they’re sacred moments of alignment, presence, and truth. This Divinely Inspired Portrait Session with a transformational healer and Reiki practitioner at Chatfield Reservoir was one of those rare and radiant evenings that felt both grounded and transcendent.

Set against the still waters and glowing skies of sunset at Chatfield Reservoir, we created a space where her energy could speak, and her spirit could shine.

Portraits That Hold Presence

From the very first moment, her presence was calm, clear, and deeply rooted. As a transformational healer and Reiki master, she carries a quiet strength that radiates outward—compassionate, grounded, and full of light. It was an honor to witness and reflect that through my lens.

We met at the reservoir just as the sun began its descent. The air was soft and golden. The wind carried whispers through the grasses. And there she stood—barefoot and open, wrapped in earth tones and intention.

Together, we created images that weren’t just portraits, but visual meditations: moments of stillness, movement, reflection, and release.

A Sacred Setting at Sunset

There’s something about Chatfield Reservoir at golden hour that invites stillness and awe. The way the light glistens on the water, the endless sky melting into warm hues, and the open space all around—it becomes more than a location; it becomes a container.

We used the shoreline, open fields, and soft hills as symbolic elements throughout the session: water for emotion and flow, earth for grounding, and sky for spirit and expansion. Everything was intentional. Everything was infused with meaning.

The Divinely Inspired Portrait Experience

This session is part of my Divinely Inspired Portrait Series—a special offering for those who are walking spiritual paths, holding space for others, or stepping fully into their soul’s work. These portraits are not traditional headshots or lifestyle photos. They are energetic representations of who you are becoming and your highest self.

Each session includes:

  • A soul-aligned planning conversation

  • Location and wardrobe guidance to reflect your inner essence

  • Intuitive portrait direction that flows with your energy

  • Fine art portraits that honor your path and your presence

You don’t need to "perform" for the camera. You just need to show up. I’ll hold space, guide gently, and capture what wants to be seen.

Honoring the Healer

This healer’s journey is one of deep listening, spiritual guidance, and energetic transformation. Her work helps others move through fear, grief, confusion, and stagnation into clarity and empowerment. I wanted her portraits to reflect that quiet alchemy—that heart-centered strength.

And they did.

These portraits feel both ethereal and embodied—like looking at truth in visual form.

Light, Kindness, and Strength | A Divinely Inspired Portrait Session with a Gifted Yoga Teacher

Some people simply radiate. From the moment they enter a space, you feel it—an ease, a calm, a quiet knowing that everything is going to be okay. That’s exactly how I felt when I walked into one of my first yoga classes after moving back to Colorado and met this beautiful soul.

She didn’t know it at the time, but her presence was a grounding gift to me in a season of transition. Her class was gentle, welcoming, and filled with the kind of energy that lingers long after the final savasana. It was a comfort I didn’t even know I needed.

So when she stepped in front of my lens for a Divinely Inspired portrait session, it felt like everything had come full circle.

Honoring Her Presence Through Portraits

This session was quiet and sacred. We photographed in my Highlands Ranch home studio—but the space was set up differently than it would be for a typical portrait session. I wanted to emphasize her beauty, her form, and the perfect shining on and through her. From the moment she arrived, she moved with intention and grace, just like she does in her teaching.

Her portraits are filled with the same qualities she brings to her yoga practice:

  • Light that glows from within

  • Kindness that invites others to soften

  • Strength that feels gentle, steady, and wise

There’s no pretense, no performance—just a woman standing fully in who she is. And that is powerful.

The Divinely Inspired Portrait Experience

These sessions are designed for those who are walking deep, soulful paths—healers, teachers, guides, and creatives who serve from the heart. It’s not about perfect poses or curated looks. It’s about capturing the energy that makes you you.

Each session includes:

  • A soul-led planning consultation to align vision and intention

  • Styling support, including access to the client wardrobe

  • A peaceful, intuitive studio session guided by energy, not ego

  • A gallery of fine art portraits that feel both ethereal and embodied

This is about reflection. Transformation. Remembrance. Your portraits become visual reminders of who you are beneath all the doing.

More Than a Yoga Teacher

In the studio that day, I saw the same grounded warmth that I felt in that first yoga class. She radiates the kind of beauty that has nothing to do with appearance and everything to do with presence.

Her portraits are soft, strong, and luminous. We moved through poses that weren’t just beautiful—they were expressions of her soul.

In Camel Pose, her heart reached toward the sky, open and vulnerable—a testament to her courage and the way she leads with love.
Reverse Warrior revealed her quiet strength, grounded yet fluid, like a wave moving through still water.
In Half Moon with a bind, she embodied balance and expansion—rooted in trust, reaching beyond the visible.
And in Dancer Pose, she radiated grace and light, poised in a moment that felt both powerful and prayerful.

Each pose reflected a facet of her being: her capacity to hold space, to inspire others, and to shine from within.

Your Light Deserves to Be Seen

If you’re a yoga teacher, healer, or soul-centered creative longing for portraits that capture your spirit—not just your face—this offering is for you.

📍 My Divinely Inspired Portrait Sessions take place in my peaceful home studio in Highlands Ranch, CO or during the magical hour before sunset.

Radiant at Golden Hour | A Highlands Ranch Senior Portrait Session

There’s something magical about photographing seniors at sunset—and this session in Highlands Ranch, CO was no exception. Just before the sun dipped below the horizon, I had the absolute joy of photographing a stunning redheaded high school senior whose natural beauty and quiet confidence lit up the frame.

Set against the historic mansion, soft summer breezes, and the warm glow of golden hour, this senior portrait session was filled with effortless elegance, laughter, and light.

Golden Hour: The Perfect Time for Senior Portraits

If you've ever wondered when the best time is to take senior portraits outdoors, the answer is always just before sunset. Known as the “golden hour,” this time of day gives everything a warm, natural glow—and it’s especially flattering for portraits.

During this session, the light was absolutely dreamy. It softened every feature, brought out the rich copper tones in her hair, and added a natural radiance to every image. It was the kind of light that photographers chase, and she wore it like a crown.

Personal Style Meets Natural Beauty

This senior came to her session with a relaxed confidence and a classic sense of style that fit the Highlands Ranch setting perfectly. She chose soft, neutral-toned outfits that complemented her red hair and the sunlit landscape—think flowy fabrics, warm earth tones, and a touch of vintage charm.

We moved around the historic mansion and the perfectly manicured gardens—each location offering something unique. Whether she was sitting on the steps, laying in the grass, or leaning into a quiet moment of reflection, every shot told a story of a young woman on the edge of something amazing.

A Full-Service Experience for Seniors in Highlands Ranch

Why Summer Is the Perfect Season for Family Portraits in Littleton, CO

Who thinks about getting their family portraits taken in the summer? If you're like most people, you probably wait until the fall family photo season rolls around—just in time for golden leaves, cozy sweaters, and those all-important holiday card deadlines. And honestly? I get it! Fall is undeniably beautiful here in Littleton, Colorado. But today, I want to make the case for something a little different.

If you're looking for a session that feels relaxed, vibrant, and full of life, summer might just be the best time of year for family portraits—especially with young kids.

Why You Might Be Overlooking the Best Time for Family Photos

Fall tends to get all the attention when it comes to scheduling family photo sessions, and it's easy to see why. The leaves are changing, the air is crisp, and the holidays are right around the corner. It's a season that naturally tugs at our sense of nostalgia and tradition.

But here's what no one tells you: fall is also busy. Between back-to-school schedules, sports, extracurriculars, and preparing for the holidays, it’s not always the most relaxed time to wrangle your family into coordinated outfits and head out for portraits.

That’s why I love offering summer family portrait sessions in Littleton, CO—and why I think you’ll love them too.

5 Reasons to Book Your Family Portraits This Summer

1. Summer is FUN—and it shows in your photos

Kids are happiest when they’re having fun. And summer is full of it! Long days, barefoot adventures, and carefree evenings create the perfect atmosphere for natural, joy-filled family portraits. When everyone’s relaxed and playful, it makes for the most genuine smiles and real connection.

2. Gorgeous weather = gorgeous photos

Let's be honest: no one likes shivering in a cute sweater while pretending not to be freezing during a fall session. In the summer, the weather is warm and golden—perfect for sunset sessions where you can wear light, breezy dresses and let your kids run barefoot through the grass or sand without worry.

3. More flexibility in your schedule

With school out and many families staying closer to home, summer often offers more flexibility for booking. You’re not battling homework, bedtimes, and fall obligations—making it easier to plan a session at just the right time of day (hello, golden hour!).

4. Lush, colorful backdrops

Littleton’s parks, trails, and open spaces come alive in the summer. Everything is vibrant, trees are fully leafed out, and the sunlight is rich and golden. From rolling fields to mountain views, summer in Colorado offers endless options for stunning, outdoor family portraits.

5. Get ahead of the holiday rush

Imagine this: it’s October, and your holiday cards are already ordered, printed, and ready to mail—because you had your family portraits taken back in July. No scrambling for outfits, no last-minute sessions, and no added stress in the busiest time of year. Sounds pretty amazing, right?

What to Expect from a Summer Family Portrait Session

When you book with me, you’re getting more than just beautiful photos—you’re getting a full-service experience. From our first phone consultation to the final delivery of your artwork, I’ll guide you every step of the way.
