I photographed a wedding a few years ago at a ski resort. Since the wedding was during the summer there wasn’t any snow on the runs that led down the mountain to the chalet where the wedding was to be held. The groom thought it would be a great thing to have his dog wear the rings on his collar during the wedding. At the rehearsal the pastor said: “what token did you bring to seal this union”? The groom said: “A ring”, then whistled. Around the corner of the building came his dog (it was held in a van by the groom’s buddy) The dog ran up to the groom, and sat down by the groom’s leg. Everyone smiled and thought that is a great touch.
I photographed a Greek-Orthodox wedding a few years ago, and at the reception I saw the tallest cake I had ever seen. It was a 7-layer cake, with each layer separated by a series of pedestals. The whole thing was 7-foot tall!! The caterer put the cake under a ceiling cool-air vent since it was so hot in the room.
