Why does a groom need to get his tux-shoes a ½ larger than his normal size?

Tux shoes are plastic-coated, not leather, so the feet does not get a chance to breath. When they can’t breath they swell, and sometimes they swell so much the feet hurt. To stop the pain the groom will take the shoes off, but the feet will keep on swelling of a bit, making it impossible to get them back on.

Why does a groom need to get black nylon socks instead of black cotton socks?

What type of make-up should a bride wear?

“Day-time” make-up. Suggestion – stand at your bathroom sink. You are usually 2 ½ feet from the mirror, and your reflection is also 2 ½ feet from the front of the mirror. This means you are looking at yourself from 5 feet away. If at 5 feet you can see the effects of your make-up, it is too heavy.  Make sure you get a make-up artist that knows how to apply make-up for photography.

Why does the bride walk down the aisle on her dads left?

In the times when men wore swords for protection, all men were trained to fight with they right hand. The sword was easier to draw when it was located on their left side. Thus leaving their left arm for their daughter’s hand.

Where did the custom of an “aisle-runner” come from?

Back in the 5th century, only the nobles were married in a church (“commoners” were married in the “glen” by friar tuck). The color of the runner would indicate the ranking of the bride. The bride never walked on the same floor as the peasants who cleaned the floor, so they would walk on some kind of runner.
